Our customer was already abroad. Their phone was safely stored at the Istanbul Airport Lost & Found Office, but they were no longer in Turkey to collect it. Fortunately, a colleague was staying at a hotel in Galata and would be flying back early the next morning.
The first message was simple: I want someone to go to the airport lost and found service today, pick up my phone and bring it to a hotel in Galata. Would that be possible? Our answer came immediately: Yes, of course. This is possible.

A Simple Pickup Quickly Became a Complex Operation
Our courier would visit Istanbul Airport Lost & Found, present the authorization documents, collect the phone and head directly to the hotel. However, airport bureaucracy had other plans.
Because the item was a personal mobile phone, airport authorities required several documents, including an authorization letter, identity verification, passport information, a reference number and data protection forms.
The authorization form contained issues. Some information had been handwritten, the ink color was not accepted and the airport staff requested the documents to be completed in a very specific format. At that moment, this stopped being an ordinary courier delivery and became a complete Airport Lost & Found Recovery Service.
Coordinating Three Different Locations

Eventually, customs approved the release. The phone still had to arrive from the storage area before it could finally be handed over. Even then, our courier continued waiting. Nobody gave up.
Finally, Success
Late that evening, the phone was finally released. Our courier immediately left Istanbul Airport and drove approximately 46 kilometers to Galata.
The phone was safely delivered to the customer's colleague at the hotel just in time before the early morning flight. A few minutes later, we received the message we had been hoping for: Telephone has arrived. Once again, thank you! Teşekkür ederim.
